• We provide a complimentary welcome pack on arrival with a few essentials to keep you going, mostly locally sourced produce that will keep your hunger or thirst at bay while you settle in.


  • Free WiFi connectivity.


  • We have a selection of mountain bikes that are included in rental of the gîte, mostly adult sized but we have a couple that are suitable for children. We have some bike helmets but if you're planning to use the bikes on the public road, then please bring your own, French law as of 2018 states that helmets for children under 16 are mandatory on the public highways.


  • To help you get around and take some of the difficulty out of finding your way around, we provide a SatNav that has all the local shops, restaurants, and amenities  pre-programmed. It will also get you back to the gîte after a long day or after dark....when all the roads tend to look the same!


  • Bed linen, and towels are provided for each guest, plus tea towels for the kitchen, toilet roll and dish washer tablets. There is a hairdryer and a charger for electric toothbrushes in the bathroom. (Braun)


  • As you're on holiday, we will take care of the disposal of rubbish and recycling for you, all we ask is that you use the bins provided onsite and we'll do the rest.

The gite and outside areas

  • The gîte is equipped with both smoke detectors,  carbon monoxide detector and a fire blanket.  All detectors are tested weekly.


  • As with any location that has a body of water close by, please ensure that young children are observed at all times, this is the responsibility of the parents/guardians


  • There is a life ring located by the deepest section of the lake.


  • Our property is fully enclosed and the gîte is accessed via remote control electric gates for which you will be given a remote upon arrival.


  • The gite is also equipped with a basic first aid kit just in case !


  • Dogs are allowed, but please contact us in advance. 


  • Dogs are not allowed on the beds in the gite.


  • When outside dogs must not be left unattended and must be controlled at all times.


  • If your dog fouls on the mown grass it is the responsibility of the dog owner to clean it up immediately.

Kingfisher Lake

The gîte is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences that you would expect, a bright and spacious Salle de Séjour has a dining area, comfortable seating for four. Relax in front of the HD TV and log burner or you can keep in contact with friends at home via the free WiFi. The kitchen has plenty of work and storage space, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, fridge/freezer, extractor fan and a gas cooker.  There is a selection of books and games both indoor and outdoor, a BBQ plus a set of binoculars. Despite being in a rural setting, the gîte has a modern comfortable feel to it and the best views  of the lake.


The bedrooms are equipped with modern electric radiators that ensure that you stay as warm as toast on the colder nights, they also have a great view of the lake, so you don't even have to get out of bed to see what kind of day it's going to be for fishing. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink and the electric towel rail / radiator.


There is a covered veranda directly outside the gîte with a large picnic bench, it is a great place to have a BBQ and sit and enjoy the tranquility, over a glass or two of wine, or the local drink, Pineau.


In 2020 we have added a shared pool and sundeck, this is shared with us (well mostly our daughter and her friends) but guests in the gite are welcome to use it.  The pool is available in June, July and August and possibly earlier or later in the year depending on weather.
